Zingabier - the scientific name for ginger - is a deliciously drinkable golden ale, brewed to bring cultures together. We taste a lightly sweet and malty beer with notes of spicy ginger and wildflower honey.

Our Story

Shaun (Coach Taylor) and Jamil go way back to the basketball court at Wootton High in Montgomery County. They reconnected over a home-brewed beer years later and decided to create a brewery like no other. As the first black-owned brewery in MoCo, Coach Taylor and Jamil share a vision of making great beer accessible to everyone.

Shaun is a lover of craft beers and local breweries. He believes that each beer provides a unique experience and has a story. He uses Black Viking as a platform to amplify voices in the black community and make great beer accessible to all.

Jamil - Head Brewmaster

Jamil has always loved exploring new breweries and started home brewing years ago in his garage. What started out as a hobby is now a passion. He spends his free time dreaming up new beers with unique flavor combinations for Black Viking.
